At Keloid Academy, our mission is to educate, empower, and build community for people living with keloid disease. Part of that mission is spotlighting innovation — the new ideas and tools that can improve the lives of those affected by this condition. Today, we’re excited to share one.
KeloidAScanAI is now live in beta. It is a web-based app developed by Lamont R. Jones, MD, MBA, Founder of Keloid Academy, to help people living with keloids track their condition over time and communicate more effectively with their healthcare providers.
What it does
KeloidAScanAI lets you mark where your keloids are on an interactive body map and log symptoms like pain and itching, so you can better describe your experience to your provider. It works on any phone, tablet, or computer — no download and no account required. As an early beta, some features are previews of what’s coming, and the app guides you through the rest when you open it.
Why it matters
People living with keloids often struggle to describe their experience accurately at an appointment. What did it look like six months ago? When did the itching start? Has it changed since the last treatment? Keloid disease is also underserved in digital health, and the communities most affected — especially people with skin of color — are underrepresented in the data that shapes care. A simple way to track and document your own experience helps close that gap, and the broader vision goes further: connecting people living with keloids to one another, to clinicians who specialize in keloid care, and to researchers working toward better treatments.
Try it and help shape it
You can try the beta now at keloidascan.ai. Your information stays on your own device, and there’s a short, optional survey — about 90 seconds, with no name or email required — that goes straight to the development team and shapes what gets built next. The beta is for adults 18 and older.
